We are a creative design company first and foremost. We do have prototyping capabilities in-house with consumer / hobbyist quality machines and tools (i.e. FDM/FFF 3D Printers, CNC, etc.) at our disposal. These are extremely valuable for initial prototyping or iterative design quickly and cheaply, however these do not always scale well for the volumes or the level of finish / quality we require.
Equally, printed media such as clothing and other goods are better off left to the experts so it makes sense to leverage a specialist in that field. An added benefit of handing off the distribution of our products is the logistics in regards to supply chain and shipping is handled by larger companies which can leverage their buying power and quality assurance systems to ensure products are widely available in a range of materials and colours but also able to be shipped anywhere in the world.

We’re still a creative studio and makers at heart so its only natural we want to keep our skills sharp and explore new methods and techniques for creating products. Some of these may not work out (possibly for the best) but still provide a learning opportunity - see some of our Concepts here. The items that we hand make for sale are typically not something that can be handed off to a third-party to manufacture or is intended for limited runs only.

We predominantly use a program called Fusion 360 from Autodesk which is ideal for makers and hobbyists alike. Apart from that we also dabble in a number of other programs to assist in getting the desired result such as:
- Carbide Create
- Meshmixer
- Inkscape
- GIMP

We use Squarespace to build and host our website as we found it to be the quickest to get something up and going with minimal effort. Currently we are using a heavily modified Ventura Template on the 7.1 platform.

Digital Download Products FAQ’s
Threadbuilt sells a number of products as Digital Downloads. This helps to keep costs down as we aren't sending physical items around the world by mail, but also offers our customers the chance to choose a manufacturing partner, service provider, or even to personalize and complete the product themselves.
The Benefits of Digital Download
You get the files instantly—no wait times for manufacturing and shipping.
You choose your own fulfillment partner. Working with a local provider is often more affordable, and their expert advice on local materials or manufacturing techniques can result in a final piece that perfectly fits your aesthetic or is more relevant to your area.
Your purchased files give you the freedom of choice; you can experiment with the manufacturing technique, material, tooling, or format that best suits your specific project.

Fair Use
Please familiarise yourself with our Fair Use Policy as outlined in the following link. Note in particular that there are restrictions on using any Threadbuilt design or intellectual property for commercial gain or resale without explicit permission. Our policy ensures fair and ethical use of our digital download products to protect both your interests and our creative work.
How to Get Your Digital Download
Once your purchase is complete, accessing your new files is fast and secure.
1. Instant Access & Email Confirmation
Download Now: Your file will be available for immediate download directly on the Order Confirmation Page after payment.
Email Backup: You will also receive an Order Confirmation Email, followed by a separate email containing your secure download link(s), in case you skip past the confirmation page.
Save Securely: Please download the file(s) and save them to a secure location (like a laptop or external drive) for permanent access.
2. Important: Link Expiration
For security, the link in the email will expire 24 hours after purchase.
If the link expires before you can download the file, simply click the expired link in your email. A new link will be instantly sent to the email address used for the initial purchase.
Please ensure your email address is accurate and up-to-date at checkout.
3. Unzipping Your Files
Your purchase is delivered as a ZIP file to keep all contents organized. You'll need to "unzip" or "extract" the files to use them.
On most computers (Windows/Mac), you can usually Right-click the ZIP file and select an option like "Extract All" or "Open" to start the process.
The method may vary slightly depending on your operating system, but the functionality is built-in and openly available.
The unzipped folder will contain various files (e.g., STL, DXF, DOCX, SVG). Choose the file that best suits your software, workflow, or equipment to begin using your product.
If you encounter issues, free programs like 7-Zip or WinZip are popular options, or a professional service provider can often handle this for you.
Quality Outcomes & Expectations
We strive to ensure these files and any guidance provided are user-friendly and result in quality outcomes. However, we cannot account for the specifics of your workflows or equipment and are unable to provide tailored technical assistance or diagnostics.
Please note the following:
Final Result Variance: Final manufactured results or outcomes (created by you, the customer) may vary from what is illustrated in our previews. This is due to variances in the production techniques, materials, equipment, and tools available to you.
